4th avenue + 9th street station platform.

The 4th Avenue/9th Street Station in Park Slope is currently in the midst of a major overhaul as part of the Culver viaduct rehabilitation project. The next station over, Smith/9th Street is closed entirely until next March.

The viaduct has been in a state of deterioration and has been in desperate need of rehabilitation. Unfortunately, for people who live along the F and G routes are going to be affected. Future phases will cause further service changes until the project is due to be complete in February 2013.

One thing about the 4th Avenue station that will be welcome is the restoration of the windows of the windows that were boarded up or painted over in the ’70s. Once installed, it will be possible to see an amazing view of the Brooklyn skyline.
